That kind of love
Kind of love that tries to understand
There is a kind of love that does not leave at the first mistake. A love that does not count every wrong word, every forgotten promise, every imperfect moment as a reason to walk away. It is the kind of love that pauses before judging, listens before speaking, and asks, “What happened?” instead of immediately asking, “Why did you do this to me?” Because when you truly care for someone, you begin to understand that they are human before they are anything else. They will have days when they are tired, moments when they are confused, and seasons when they do not know how to explain what is happening inside them. And somehow, love teaches you patience—not the patience of waiting for someone to become perfect, but the patience of accepting them while they are still learning.
I want the kind of love that can sit beside a mistake without turning it into a lifetime sentence. The kind that says, “You hurt me, but I still want to understand you.” Not because pain does not matter, but because the person matters too. Love should not mean accepting everything without boundaries; it should mean knowing the difference between someone who intentionally destroys your heart and someone who is simply learning how to hold it. I want a love that grows through conversations, forgiveness, honesty, and understanding. A love that does not disappear whenever things become inconvenient. A love that remembers the beautiful days when the difficult ones arrive, and whispers, “We can work through this.”
