Friends never become strangers 😞

Some friendships are not measured by how often you speak, but by how easily you return to one another. You can spend hours together, create memories you will repeat a hundred times, laugh until your stomach hurts, sit silently when words are unnecessary, and somehow make ordinary days feel like stories worth remembering. There is something beautiful about having people who know the version of you that laughs loudly and the version that becomes quiet when life becomes heavy. Friends who do not make you feel like a stranger simply because you have changed. Friends who understand that growing does not always mean growing apart.

I want friendships where nobody has to disappear whenever life becomes difficult. Where sadness does not have to be hidden behind a smile, and loneliness does not have to be explained before someone comes closer. A friendship where we can say, “I am not okay today,” and the answer is simply, “Then you don't have to be okay alone.” Where we celebrate one another without jealousy, correct one another without cruelty, and protect one another without expecting applause. The kind of friendship where presence itself becomes a language—a familiar face, a familiar laugh, a familiar person who somehow makes the world feel a little less complicated.

And if one day life takes us in different directions, I hope we never become strangers. I hope there will always be a road leading back to the memories we made, back to the people we were, back to the laughter that once filled our afternoons. Because some people become more than friends. They become background music to a chapter of your life—the quiet reason certain years still feel warm when you remember them. And perhaps the greatest gift a friend can give is not simply being there for your happiest moments, but helping you find the light again when you temporarily forget where you left it.
